19-year-old Ying Ying had a pair of cubs for the first time

Ying Ying's motherhood is said to be 'rare'. Because it is the oldest panda and gave birth last Thursday, a day before her 19th birthday.

If Ying Ying were a human, it would be 57 years old (the panda's condition is like a 57-year-old human). It is not common for pandas to give birth for the first time at such an age.

Ying Ying's pair of cubs is a boy, the other a girl. A photo of the two cubs has surfaced online. Thousands of people congratulated it.

Both cubs are quite weak. It will take time to harden. For this, the two cubs were kept in intensive care for 24 hours, said the panda supervisor.

Hong Kong Ocean Park authorities said, 'Visitors will not be able to see the pair of cubs right now. We will have to wait a few months to officially meet the two cubs.'

The park authorities also said that of the two cubs, the condition of the girl is more fragile than that of the boy. The body temperature of the female cub was quite low. The sound of crying was also faint compared to that of the cub. Weight is only 122 grams.

Ying Ying also suffered from nervous tension during childbirth. Ocean Park authorities said that most of the time was lying down.

Ying Ying and her partner Li Li have been at Ocean Park since 2007. China gave these two big pandas to Hong Kong.
