Protests by the Awami League erupted in Gopalganj after Sheikh Hasina was reportedly 'compelled to leave the country.'

In Gopalganj, a protest march and rally were organized to condemn the 'ousting and forced exile' of former Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina. On Tuesday, Awami League leaders and activists, along with members of allied organizations, participated in the demonstration, which was held in two phases.

According to eyewitnesses, at 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm on Tuesday, the protestors, armed with batons, marched in front of the Bankpara District Awami League office. The procession meandered through various roads in the district town before concluding at the local chowrangi. The event was led by Gopalganj District Awami League General Secretary GM Sahab Uddin.

During the procession, leaders and activists chanted a range of slogans such as 'Sheikh Hasina is not afraid; she hasn't left the streets,' 'If anything happens to Sheikh Hasina, fire will rage from house to house,' 'Rajakars of '71, leave Bengal immediately,' and 'Jamaat-Shibir Razakars, get out of Bengal now.' Participants carried various items including tentacles, ramadas, Chinese axes, shields, bamboo sticks, iron rods, and pipes.

Later, General Secretary of the District Awami League GM Sahab Uddin spoke at a brief rally held in the Chowrangi area. He urged leaders and activists to be prepared to confront any situation with bravery. Sahab Uddin claimed that BNP-Jamaat seeks to turn the country into a state of anarchy and looting, with the ultimate goal of establishing a reign of terror in Bangladesh.
