Tara Davis-Woodhall Nearly Blacked Out When She Leapt into Husband Hunter's Arms After Winning Gold
Tara Davis-Woodhall had just one person in mind to celebrate her Olympic gold medal with: her husband, Hunter Woodhall.
After winning the women’s long jump final on August 8, 25-year-old Tara rushed to the Stade de France bleachers to share a heartfelt embrace with her 25-year-old husband.
“It was such a relief and a moment of triumph,” Tara told NBC broadcasters later that day. “As I looked into his eyes, I felt disoriented and almost blacked out for a moment. His presence made the experience even more unforgettable.”
She added, “It feels surreal, yet completely believable. I’ve worked so hard this season to reach this point. Being undefeated was a goal of mine, and I kept telling myself, ‘No one is going to outwork me this year.’ I set the bar so high that no one could surpass it.”
This was Tara’s second Olympics, but her first time winning a medal. Throughout her journey to gold, Hunter had been her most dedicated supporter.
