Attacks on Russian territory have increased in intensity.

Ukraine has escalated both air and ground assaults on Russia. On Friday, Ukrainian forces crossed the border and launched attacks within Russian territory. Simultaneously, a Russian airbase located a few hundred kilometers from the front line was targeted. In a separate incident, a Russian attack on a supermarket in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kostiantynivka resulted in the deaths of 10 people.

Additionally, last Tuesday, Ukrainian troops and fighters entered Russia's western Kursk region. This move is considered the most significant Ukrainian incursion into Russian territory since Moscow's offensive against Ukraine began.

Russia reported that approximately 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers and fighters, along with more than two dozen armored vehicles and tanks, were involved in the initial phase of the recent attack. Moscow has since demanded the destruction of additional warships beyond this number.

Kiev has not officially confirmed the operation. However, in a Thursday evening speech, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky suggested that Russia needs to "understand" the potential repercussions of its own aggression.

Meanwhile, Ukraine carried out a significant drone attack on a Russian airport in the Lipetsk region yesterday. This military base is situated 280 kilometers from the Russia-Ukraine border. According to local governor Igor Artamonov and Russian state media, the airport was set ablaze following the nighttime drone strike.

The General Staff of Ukraine's military reported via Telegram that the Lipetsk air base was targeted by Ukrainian defense forces, hitting several installations, including a guided bomb facility. The attack led to multiple explosions and a major fire.

In a separate incident, a Russian attack on a supermarket in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kostiantynivka resulted in 10 deaths and 35 injuries, as reported by Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihar Klymenko, on Telegram.
