Israeli forces' bomb attack on a school in Gaza City, Palestine, resulted in the deaths of hundreds, including women and children, with many others injured. Palestinian officials reported that refugee families had taken temporary shelter in the school.

Gaza's Civil Defense Agency reported that the attack occurred at Al-Tabin School in the Daraz area of Gaza City early Saturday morning. Three Israeli bombs struck the school, which has been described as a "terrible massacre."

Ismail al-Thawabta, head of Gaza's media office, stated that Israeli forces used three 2,000-pound bombs in the assault. The school, where refugees had sought shelter, was targeted despite Israeli knowledge of this. The attack ignited a fire in the school building during Fajr prayers. Among the casualties are women, children, and the elderly, with fears that the death toll may rise further.
