North Korea's state news agency KCNA reported this information on Friday. Pyongyang sent the message in response to President Putin's congratulatory message on Thursday (August 15) on the occasion of the anniversary of independence.
According to KCNA, Putin said in his congratulatory message that the bond with North Korea that began with the Soviet troops fighting against Japan continues to serve as the basis of Moscow's relationship with Pyongyang.
In a message sent to Putin, Kim said, "The friendly feelings between the armies and peoples of the two countries started and deepened from the bloody fight against the common enemy." It is serving as a strong driving force in the transition of the friendly and cooperative relations of the two countries towards an integrated strategic partnership and loyal friendship.'
The deal was signed at a time when South Korea, Ukraine and the United States allege that Kim is helping Russia in its war in Ukraine by supplying rockets and missiles in return for economic and other military aid from Moscow.
Meanwhile, KCNA reported that Kim visited a mausoleum honoring Korean soldiers who fought in the War of Resistance Against Japan to end the 1910-1945 colonial rule.
